Support for Carers
-
Our Support for Carers service provides practical, non-regulated support for people who care for a family member, loved one or someone they support regularly.
This service is designed to give carers reassurance, breathing space and practical help with everyday responsibilities, while respecting the needs and routines of the person they care for.
-
Support for Carers may be suitable for unpaid carers, family members or relatives who need practical help, reassurance or time to manage other responsibilities.
This may include carers who need short periods of support, help with routines, support to reduce pressure, or someone reliable to assist with agreed non-regulated tasks.
-
Support may include:
Practical support with agreed daily routines
Short periods of support to give carers breathing space
Companionship and reassurance for the person being supported
Help with community access or agreed activities
Support with organisation and planning
Signposting to other services where appropriate
Regular communication with the carer where agreed
-
We begin by understanding the carer’s situation, the needs of the person they support and the type of practical help required.
Support is agreed in advance and delivered in a respectful, reliable and person-centred way. Our aim is to reduce pressure on carers while promoting dignity, independence, safety and peace of mind.
